Zumba Trainer (Gym Instructor)

About the role

The Zumba Trainer conducts energetic and engaging Zumba fitness classes that combine dance styles, aerobic movements and music. The trainer motivates club members to reach their fitness goals while keeping the workout environment safe, enjoyable and inclusive, adapting routines to different fitness levels.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Zumba classes according to established schedules and formats.
• Develop and choreograph routines using various dance styles and music genres.
• Give clear instructions, demonstrate proper technique and correct participants' movements.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere and modify routines for different fitness levels and physical limitations.
• Maintain high energy and professionalism, monitor safety and follow safety guidelines.
• Stay up to date on fitness trends, choreography, music and teaching methods.
• Keep the workout area clean, safe and organised, and give excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with the Gym and Recreation teams to promote classes and attract new participants.
• Attend training workshops, seminars and conferences, follow company SOPs and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Degree in Physical Education or a related field.
• Valid Zumba Instructor Certification from a recognised organisation.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, including group fitness classes.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and a confident, professional manner.
