AB Seaman – Hospitality Vessel

About the role

The AB Seaman will support the skipper in all deck operations aboard the Banana Island Resort vessel in Doha. This position combines maritime duties with hospitality service to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the skipper with all delegated tasks and maintain a vigilant lookout from the wheelhouse.
• Participate in emergencies, drills, and respond according to assigned duties.
• Report unsafe activities promptly to the skipper.
• Carry out cleaning duties, keep the vessel ready for passengers, and ensure sufficient cleaning supplies are onboard.
• Wash the boat externally after each trip and perform a thorough cleaning at the end of each shift.
• Maintain tidy luggage compartments and manage the passenger manifest before departure.
• Handle lost‑and‑found items and ensure proper handover to the next shift.
• Uphold personal hygiene, maintain uniform condition, and follow safe berthing, un‑berthing, and line‑handling procedures.

Required profile

• Valid AB Seaman certification (CDC with AB (II/4) qualification, STCW, and a fit‑to‑work medical report).
• Proven experience as an AB Seaman, preferably in hospitality or marine tourism.
• Basic understanding of vessel navigation and seamanship.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
