Airfield Management Shift Lead

About the role

The Airfield Management Shift Lead is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of all airfield activities and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for aircraft operations during their shift. This position oversees the AMOPS section, conducts inspections, and coordinates a wide range of airfield functions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain real‑time awareness of airfield operations and safety conditions.
• Perform airfield inspections and verify compliance with planning and design criteria.
• Plan, organize, and direct airfield construction, repairs, ice/snow removal, and wildlife control programs.
• Procure and manage flight information publications, aeronautical charts, NOTAMs, and weather data.
• Process domestic and international flight plans and coordinate with base agencies for crew support, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or equivalent.
• At least four years of aviation experience with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 operator, including supervision, dispatching, and safety enforcement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US CENTCOM medical exam and a Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
