Assistant Reservations Manager

About the role

The Assistant Reservations Manager directly oversees day‑to‑day reservation operations while serving as the primary operational extension of the Director of Revenue Management. In this dual‑focused role you will lead reservation agents, manage inventory and booking flows, and execute strategic yield decisions, pricing tactics, and distribution controls.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coach reservation agents, manage daily workflows and shift handovers.
• Act as liaison for escalated guest inquiries, VIP reservations and complex group bookings.
• Execute daily rate changes, yield strategies and stay controls in the PMS, CRS and OTAs.
• Monitor inventory, room availability and overbooking thresholds to optimise occupancy.
• Conduct rate parity checks across OTAs and metasearch channels and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure accurate data entry and proper market segmentation, origin coding and commission structures.
• Compile daily pickup reports, pace updates and cancellation logs for revenue management.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hotel reservations or front‑desk operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

Required skills

• Opera Cloud and Opera PMS experience.
• Familiarity with other PMS platforms such as Cloudbeds and Mews.
• Knowledge of Central Reservation Systems and channel managers (e.g., SiteMinder, RateGain).
• Proficiency with OTA extranets (Expedia Partner Central, Booking.com Partner Hub) and GDS processes.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for reporting.
