Assistant Restaurant Manager

About the role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager in Doha. The role ensures that staff work as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, while supporting management in people matters and helping maintain high standards of service, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Make sure staff work together as a team, and inspect their grooming and attire, correcting any deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO use and cleanliness, and complete scheduled inventories and stock requisitions
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model and first point of contact for the Open Door Policy
• Follow company and safety/security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate their needs, assist individuals with disabilities and thank them sincerely
• Develop and implement improvements that raise efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost savings

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 5 years of related work experience
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience
• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move through narrow or elevated spaces
