Assistant Vice President, Investigations

About the role

The incumbent manages and supervises the remittance investigations function for QNB's retail and corporate clients, ensuring timely and accurate processing of outward and inward remittance enquiries. The role also covers developing supporting processes, liaising with internal departments and aligning the department's plans, processes and strategies with the Group's overall strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Shareholder and financial: assist the VP Transaction Services in creating KPIs for the Investigations sub-section, implement KPIs and best practices, act within delegated powers and delegate authority to staff
• Customer service: provide efficient service to internal customers so they can serve external ones better, develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments to improve turnaround times on remittance queries and complaints, and build strong relationships with related departments
• Provide timely and accurate data to auditors, compliance, financial control and risk when required
• Ensure robust automated and manual processes and controls to prevent or detect negligence or fraud, and that internal controls, policies and procedures comply with QCB and international regulations
• Ensure escalations are handled by subordinates, approve transactions within delegated authority, and ensure segregation of duties
• Coordinate reports and information requests from QCB and other regulators within timelines, compile periodic MIS for management, and continuously improve processes to lower operating costs
• Support international branches and subsidiaries, lead improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams, and encourage and reward innovation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree; university graduate preferred, ideally in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a highly rated international bank or banking operations
• At least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory position responsible for the functions described
