Associate Card Risk – Issuing (Qatarization)

About the role

The Associate Card Risk – Issuing will monitor and manage fraud risk across QNB's card portfolio (credit, debit and prepaid). The role focuses on detecting suspicious activity, minimizing losses and supporting both internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse card usage trends by merchant, channel, country and product to identify emerging fraud patterns.
• Implement and track KPIs and best‑practice procedures for card‑issuing risk.
• Collaborate with IT development teams to enhance core‑banking, authorization and card‑monitoring tools.
• Communicate with Visa, MasterCard, American Express and other schemes on fraud incidents.
• Review transaction acceptance performance, fraud controls and rule configurations to reduce fraud levels.
• Respond to internal and external queries regarding unrecognised or suspicious card transactions.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets.
• Good understanding of card‑payment ecosystems and fraud risk appetite.
• Effective communication skills for liaison with internal divisions and external card schemes.
• Ability to work within delegated authority limits and follow compliance guidelines.

Required skills

• Experience with proprietary and third‑party card monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with core‑banking and authorization platforms.
