Auto Mechanic – Engineering & CWS Garage

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Auto Mechanic for its Engineering & CWS garage in Doha, within the oil and gas sector. The mechanic inspects, diagnoses, maintains and repairs light and heavy vehicles, following work schedules and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair light and heavy vehicles, including engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, steering, brakes and suspension.
• Repair fuel, cooling, lubrication, exhaust and air-intake systems, and troubleshoot electrical faults such as batteries, alternators, starters, wiring, lights and sensors.
• Carry out engine tune-ups, oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication and fluid checks.
• Use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, pressure gauges and workshop testing equipment, and conduct road tests after repairs.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, parts replaced and work orders, and report recurring defects and unsafe conditions.
• Safely use lifts, jacks, stands and hoists, and follow LOTO, environmental, safety, quality and waste-disposal procedures.

Required profile

• Technical diploma, ITI or recognized trade certificate in Automobile, Diesel or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3 years of auto-mechanic experience in a garage, industrial plant, transport company or heavy-vehicle workshop.
• Experience with petrol and diesel vehicles, and with cars, buses, pickup trucks, heavy vehicles and industrial transport vehicles, is preferred.
• Ability to read workshop manuals, wiring diagrams, fault codes and technical specifications.
• Good troubleshooting, technical and problem-solving skills; physically fit for an industrial garage environment.
• English communication and ability to work independently or in a team; a valid driving licence is preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical and fuel systems.
• Use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners and garage equipment.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle air-conditioning systems is an advantage.
