About the role
The Automation Engineer will design, install, commission, operate and maintain automation and control systems for steel production at Qatar Steel.
Key responsibilities
- Design, install, commission, operate and maintain industrial automation and control systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, DCS and other automated control systems.
- Monitor and maintain automation equipment used in steel production and processing operations.
- Diagnose electrical, instrumentation and control‑system faults and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and modify PLC programs, control logic and HMI/SCADA applications as required.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of automation systems and field instruments.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and production teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Required skills
- PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley preferred)
- SCADA and HMI development
- DCS knowledge
- Control systems design
- Industrial automation expertise
