Bartender

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time bartender in Doha, Qatar, to prepare drink orders for guests according to recipes, serve wine and champagne, and keep the bar and surrounding areas clean and stocked. The position is non-management and involves handling payments and closing duties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
• Issue, open and serve wine and champagne bottles.
• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables and other tools.
• Prepare fresh garnishes, stock ice, glassware and paper supplies, transport supplies to the bar set-up area and wash soiled glassware.
• Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs, process all payment methods, count the bank at the end of the shift, complete cashier reports, resolve discrepancies, drop off receipts and secure the bank.
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas, and complete closing duties.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep proprietary information confidential.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their service needs and thank them sincerely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• At least 2 years of related work experience preferred.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move through narrow, uneven or elevated spaces.
