About the role
The Business Development Leader will drive growth for a major international energy company operating in Qatar. Reporting to senior management, you will identify and evaluate new market opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and support the launch of high‑value projects.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse local business opportunities, market trends and regional/international developments.
- Liaise with key business partners in Qatar to uncover new opportunities.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative market research to identify viable ventures.
- Assist in developing and launching new projects, assessing market size, testing concepts and preparing pro‑forma analyses.
- Build and maintain relationships with market research firms, external consultants and auditors.
Required profile
- Degree in Engineering (Civil or Power) – preferably complemented by a Business Administration qualification.
- 5‑10 years of experience, including at least 3 years in a similar business development role within the energy/power sector.
- Proven track record in delivering Share/Joint Venture Agreements and project financing.
- Minimum 3 years managing multi‑million‑dollar projects on Greenfield/Brownfield sites, especially power plant development.
- Strong understanding of JVAs, JDAs, Share Agreements and land‑related issues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for coordinating multi‑functional teams (Finance, Technical, Legal, etc.).
