Business Unit Director – Paints & Coatings

About the role

The Business Unit Director – Paints & Coatings will lead the Paints business unit, driving growth, profitability and operational excellence. Reporting to Sendian Group Management, the role focuses on expanding market share, securing new projects and building strong customer relationships across the GCC.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the unit’s strategy, growth plans and annual objectives.
• Drive revenue, profitability and market expansion across retail, distribution and project sales channels.
• Identify and secure new clients, projects, distributors, dealers and strategic partnerships.
• Build relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, architects and key decision‑makers.
• Lead sales, operations, supply chain and customer service functions within the unit.
• Monitor budgets, profitability, KPIs and overall business performance.
• Ensure effective product positioning, pricing strategies and market competitiveness.
• Recruit, lead and develop high‑performing teams to achieve targets.
• Identify new products, market opportunities and growth initiatives.
• Report performance and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Marketing or related field.
• 10–15 years experience in paints, coatings, building materials or construction chemicals.
• At least 8 years in a senior leadership role with P&L responsibility.
• Proven track record in revenue generation, business development and market expansion.
• Strong network in construction, contracting and building‑materials sectors.
• Mandatory experience in GCC markets.
• Excellent leadership, commercial, negotiation and operational management skills.
