Captain / Master / Skipper for Luxury Resort

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Captain/Master/Skipper to lead the private catamaran operations at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara. The successful candidate will ensure safe, comfortable and memorable water experiences for our guests while upholding the resort’s high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the vessel, its safety, security and passenger comfort.
• Lead, train and monitor the crew, ensuring proper uniform and conduct.
• Prepare and maintain the boat’s cleanliness, equipment and documentation before each departure.
• Navigate the vessel according to approved passage plans and handle any deviations.
• Send distress alerts and request shore assistance when required.
• Manage emergency response procedures and report incidents.
• Maintain logbooks, manifests and ensure the boat is fully bunkered with fresh water and fuel.
• Enforce safety, no‑smoking and environmental protection policies.
• Report technical issues to the Port Captain and relevant managers.
• Oversee passenger luggage handling, mooring equipment condition and coordinate with operations teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Captain, Master or Skipper on passenger vessels.
• Relevant maritime certifications and a valid seafarer’s licence.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage crew.
• Excellent understanding of safety, emergency and environmental regulations.
• Customer‑focused attitude and ability to address passenger concerns promptly.
