Carpenter – Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Carpenter role supports the St. Regis Residence by responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance across a range of hotel facilities. You will work closely with guests and internal teams to ensure all equipment and building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical room assets and conduct visual inspections.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and complete thorough clean‑up.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, and guestroom items.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Carpentry and finish‑work skills, including painting, drywall and wood‑trim repair.
• Ability to use lockout/tagout safety system.
• Computer skills for inputting air‑handler schedules and temperature changes.
