Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Midstream/Downstream Oil & Gas

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Chief Executive Officer to steer the growth and transformation of a midstream or downstream oil & gas business in the GCC region. The successful candidate will combine deep industry expertise with a strong commercial mindset to create sustainable shareholder value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute corporate strategy and drive business growth.
• Lead investment strategy, including M&A, joint ventures and capital raising.
• Oversee business development, commercial expansion and operational excellence.
• Deliver multi‑billion‑dollar projects and manage large investment portfolios.
• Assume full P&L responsibility, optimizing revenue, EBITDA and profitability.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with investors, NOCs, IOCs, EPC contractors, financial institutions and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Executive leadership experience in downstream (refining, petrochemicals, fuel marketing) or midstream (LNG, gas processing, pipelines, storage) sectors.
• Proven track record of building, acquiring and scaling businesses with full P&L ownership.
• 20+ years in oil & gas, including at least 10 years in a CEO, President, Managing Director or equivalent role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; MBA preferred.
• Extensive network with NOCs, IOCs, sovereign wealth funds, private equity, EPC contractors and government authorities.
