About the role
The Commis I supports the kitchen and service teams by preparing special meals, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth operations during busy periods. This full‑time position is based at a Marriott property in Doha.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare special meals, cold foods, and substitute items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures; pull and thaw frozen items.
- Maintain food logs, monitor portioning, garnish, and overall food quality.
- Communicate with chefs about excess items, menu specials, and out‑of‑stock items.
- Assist in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff as needed.
- Follow safety, security, and company policies; report maintenance issues and incidents.
Required profile
- Technical, trade or vocational school education.
- At least 3 years of related food‑and‑beverage experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
Required skills
- Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
- Clear, professional communication and teamwork skills.
