Commissioning Lead – Offshore Electrical

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Lead to manage offshore electrical commissioning activities for a major oil & gas project in Qatar. The role involves overseeing pre‑commissioning and commissioning phases, ensuring safety, quality and timely hand‑over of assets.

Key responsibilities

• Witness contractor scope of work and validate test and check sheets in line with project requirements.
• Follow‑up construction activities during pre‑shutdown and shutdown of brownfield facilities.
• Oversee brownfield offshore pre‑commissioning and commissioning execution, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Manage punch‑list creation, categorisation and clearance through weekly contractor meetings.
• Verify completeness of EPC contractor dossiers for mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning and commissioning up to hand‑over.
• Monitor EPC contractor preservation activities to meet project specifications.
• Capture and share lessons learned for inclusion in the project register.
• Track subsystem progress using the completion management system and ensure timely hand‑overs.
• Control all mechanical completion, pre‑commissioning and commissioning documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
• At least 8 years of commissioning experience on large oil & gas projects, including 1 year in a supervisory or acting role.
• Strong knowledge of completion certificate types and punch‑list categorisation.
• Experience with completion management systems such as PIMS, WinPCS, ICAPS or Hexagon.
• Hands‑on pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up experience on major oil & gas assets.
