Cost Controller – Major Projects

About the role

The Cost Controller will monitor, analyze and report the financial performance of major projects in Qatar, ensuring alignment with budgets, forecasts and company policies. The role supports the project team with accurate cost tracking, variance analysis and timely reporting to enable informed decision‑making throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Project Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) aligned with the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and support budget preparation for all project phases.
• Track and report actual costs, commitments and accruals against approved budgets, analysing variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics such as CPI and TCPI, and prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts and executive summaries.
• Review and validate EPCC contractor and subcontractor invoices against contractual terms, progress and deliverables, coordinating with procurement, finance and project controls.
• Prepare cost input for monthly project reports, steering committee presentations and internal reviews, maintaining auditable records of cost data and lessons learned.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in cost control for fertilizer or petrochemical major projects.
• Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project financials.
