Crane Mechanical Repairman

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Crane Mechanical Repairman in Doha, in the oil and gas sector. The repairman supports the maintenance of overhead travelling (EOT) cranes, magnet cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of EOT cranes, magnet cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists.
• Perform routine inspection and lubrication of bearings, wire ropes, brake systems and other critical crane components.
• Support dismantling, inspection, repair and reassembly of gearboxes, hoisting drums, wheels, couplings and drive assemblies.
• Replace worn components such as wire ropes, brake pads/liners and lifting tackles as per approved procedures.
• Assist in inspection and repair of crane runways, end trucks and structural support components.
• Identify defects, abnormalities and maintenance issues and report them for corrective action.
• Support scheduled crane inspections and maintenance according to maintenance plans.
• Follow work permit, LOTO, working-at-height and other site safety procedures, and ensure compliance with operational, safety, environmental and quality requirements.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institute or university.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in EOT crane maintenance within a production plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience with EOT cranes, magnet cranes, pendant-operated cranes and hoists.
• Good knowledge of crane components including wire ropes, brakes, gear reducers, couplings, wheels, magnets and rails.
• Able to work at height and in environments involving heat, dust and industrial gases; physically fit and able to work under pressure.
• Good written and spoken English.
