Credit Control Manager – Equipment Rental

About the role
We are seeking a dynamic Credit Control Manager to lead financial discipline, cash‑flow health, and customer trust within a fast‑growing equipment rental business. You will balance strong financial oversight with exceptional client relationships, ensuring timely collections and proactive risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Follow up daily with customers to secure payments and meet monthly collection targets.
- Review collection reports, assess outstanding balances, and evaluate current collection policies.
- Visit top customers regularly to maintain relationships and resolve issues that could delay payments.
- Proactively manage credit risk and escalate concerns to Business Support and Area Managers.
- Identify and implement improvements to debt‑collection processes.
- Prepare and send official reminder letters to defaulting customers.
- Directly manage Business Support Officer and collectors, ensuring proper handling of invoices and credit notes.
- Coordinate with branch accountants on customer reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Advise on opening new accounts and unblocking previously blocked accounts.
- Prepare documentation for legal actions and liaise with the legal affairs team.
- Collaborate with accounting and sales teams to ensure accurate booking of payments and credit notes.
Required profile
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in finance/credit roles, preferably in the equipment rental industry.
- Proven ability to reduce DSO and achieve monthly collection targets.
- Experience with month‑end closing and KPI‑based reporting.
