Director, Human Capital - Qatarization

About the role

The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), a national applied university in Qatar with more than 700 staff and 8,000 students, is recruiting a Director of Human Capital. Reporting to the President, the successful candidate provides leadership and strategic direction for the Human Capital Directorate, including the continuous evaluation of short- and long-term human capital objectives, and promotes a culture of excellence while complying with Qatari laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Human Capital Directorate's business plan and policy initiatives, working with the Vice President, Support Services.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on talent acquisition, talent management, localization, leadership development, employee relations, operations and digitalization.
• Oversee strategic workforce planning, recruitment and succession planning, and guide recruitment strategies for senior executives, faculty and staff.
• Lead talent management, including training needs, career development and succession plans.
• Guide the performance management framework covering goal setting, feedback and appraisals.
• Develop and communicate Human Capital policies and programs, and handle employee concerns and grievances fairly.
• Integrate management training programs and technologies, and structure process data and automate HR processes with proper version control.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field; professional HR certification preferred.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in HR or a related field, including 5 years of managerial experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
