Electrical Project Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of transformers and related sub‑station equipment. The role ensures reliable operation of 11 kV and 415 V electrical systems and supports project targets within the assigned site.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and inspect transformers and sub‑station equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform installation, oil sampling, BDV testing, and maintenance of 11 kV switchgear.
• Conduct routine checks on single‑phase and three‑phase connections, CTs, VTs, circuit breakers and protection relays.
• Utilize multimeters, insulation resistance meters and other testing kits for diagnostic work.
• Execute annual preventive maintenance (PPM) tasks for sub‑stations (11 kV & 415 V).
• Document findings and report any transformer issues promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4–6 years of experience in transformer installation, maintenance and sub‑station operations.
• UPDA (MMUP) certification is preferred.

Required skills

• Transformer installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of single‑phase, three‑phase connections, current transformers (CT), voltage transformers (VT), circuit breakers and protection relays.
• 11 kV switchgear maintenance.
• Proficiency with multimeters, insulation resistance meters and related testing equipment.
• Experience in transformer oil sampling, oil BDV testing, pressure relief valve (PRV), oil temperature indicator (OTI) and water temperature indicator (WTI) maintenance.
