Energy Lawyer – Consultant (Secondments)

About the role

RAYNE is seeking experienced energy lawyers to join its consultant team on a secondment basis. You will be embedded within client organisations across the GCC, acting as an extension of their in‑house legal departments on a variety of energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects.
• Support renewable, clean‑energy and infrastructure mandates throughout the region.
• Draft and negotiate project documents, joint‑venture agreements and energy contracts.
• Provide regulatory, licensing and compliance advice across GCC jurisdictions.
• Collaborate with client leadership, technical teams and government stakeholders.
• Assist with project finance, concession arrangements and cross‑border energy deals.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience in energy, projects or natural resources.
• Experience in both private practice and in‑house roles, preferably with exposure to GCC markets.
• Strong knowledge of project development, joint ventures and energy regulation.
• Familiarity with regional players such as ADNOC or DEWA is a distinct advantage.
• Commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is highly advantageous.
