Engineering Associate – Audio Visual

About the role

The Engineering Associate – Audio Visual is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and operation of all audio‑visual (AV) systems across Rosewood Doha’s hotel, serviced apartments, and private residences. The role ensures AV equipment functions reliably for events, guest rooms, and public areas while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and repairs on AV equipment, wiring, lighting, signal and power circuits.
• Respond quickly to AV issues, troubleshoot faults using testing instruments, and isolate defects in wiring or equipment.
• Set up, operate, and test audio, video, and lighting equipment for banquet events, meetings, and other functions, attending BEO meetings to understand requirements.
• Maintain AV distribution panels, control systems, and ensure all installations comply with safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inventory, and log all work in the department logbook.
• Coordinate with event planners, banquet teams, and other departments to ensure timely AV setups and provide on‑site technical support during events.
• Guide third‑party contractors, train hotel associates on basic AV operations, and ensure safety precautions are in place.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with audio‑visual equipment, wiring, and testing instruments.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and PPE usage.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio, video, and lighting systems for events.
• Familiarity with AV control panels, distribution panels, and related safety standards.
• Experience using the Knowcross work‑order system for maintenance requests.
