Equipment Operator - Oil & Gas Field Operations

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is looking for a skilled, safety-conscious Equipment Operator for its field operations in Doha. The operator will safely run, inspect and maintain heavy equipment to support drilling, production and facility construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment such as crawler cranes, bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, rough terrain forklifts and vacuum trucks, handling pipes, machinery and containers during rig moves and rigging.
• Operate equipment for site preparation, excavation, backfilling and road maintenance; specialized oilfield equipment requires specific training.
• Carry out pre-start and post-start inspections of fluid levels, tires/tracks, hydraulics, lights and safety devices.
• Follow HSE policies including the Permit to Work system, safe driving and exclusion zones, and take part in daily safety meetings and JSA/JHA assessments.
• Perform field-level maintenance (greasing, fluid top-ups, filter changes), keep the cab clean and assist mechanics on major repairs.
• Communicate with rig crews and supervisors by hand signals or two-way radio, guide ground crews during lifts and complete operator logs, hour meters and fuel reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 3-5 years of verifiable experience operating heavy equipment; Oil & Gas, mining or heavy civil construction experience preferred.
• Experience on remote well sites, pipelines or offshore rigs is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's licence (Class 1/A or equivalent for heavy hauling is a major plus).
• NCCCO, ITI or equivalent crane/equipment operator certification (required for crane operation).
• H2S Alive, First Aid and WHMIS (or equivalent regional safety tickets); BOSIET/HUET mandatory for offshore roles.

Required skills

• Knowledge of equipment load charts and ability to calculate lift capacities.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read grade stakes and site plans.
• Hazard and spatial awareness, physical fitness and reliability during 12-hour shifts and remote rotations.
