Firefighter – Emergency Response & Fire Safety

About the role

We are seeking dedicated firefighters to join our fire department team. You will prepare for and respond to fire, medical, and hazardous material emergencies while supporting fire safety education and departmental activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain readiness of emergency equipment in accordance with NFPA and other industry standards.
• Respond to fire, medical, and other emergency calls as dispatched.
• Conduct fire inspections, pre‑incident planning, and documentation of safety findings.
• Operate computerized digital fire alarm receiving systems and two‑way radio communications equipment.
• Enter burning or hazardous structures to fight fires and perform rescues while wearing required PPE.
• Support logistical duties such as equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and administrative tasks.
• Participate in rescue unit, ladder truck, engine company, or water tender operations.
• Educate staff and the public on fire safety and prevention.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally.
• Physical fitness to perform demanding rescue and fire‑fighting tasks.
• Willingness to maintain and clean personal protective equipment and departmental gear.
• Reliability in tracking metrics and documentation accurately.

Required skills

• Operation of digital fire alarm receiving equipment.
• Proficiency with two‑way radio communications.
• Knowledge of NFPA standards and fire inspection procedures.
• Use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
