Group HR Manager

About the role

A well-established contracting group in Qatar is looking for a Group HR Manager, appointed by AP Executive. This is a group-level role sitting slightly outside the day-to-day HR function, reporting directly to the C-suite and with a dotted-line relationship to the Group Head of HR. The group operates through several businesses with different performance management practices, and the role also covers the implementation of SAP SuccessFactors.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the C-suite to turn business priorities into group-wide people policies, processes and standards.
• Design and implement a consistent KPI and performance management framework across all group companies, linking individual goals to business objectives.
• Act as the business lead for HR on the SAP SuccessFactors implementation, working with IT, the implementation partner and company HR teams.
• Draft and roll out group policies and procedures that are legally sound under Qatar Labour Law.
• Advise executives on HR legal matters, contract issues and policy risk.
• Work with the Group Head of HR and company HR teams to ensure new frameworks are adopted consistently.
• Lead change management and communication so new systems and procedures are embedded across the group.

Required profile

• Significant HR experience in a group, holding-company or corporate centre role, ideally in a multi-entity organisation.
• Track record of delivering group-wide projects, especially performance management or KPI frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Qatar Labour Law and HR legal matters, with experience drafting policies.
• Confidence advising and influencing C-suite executives and working through dotted-line relationships.
• Fluent Arabic and English (both essential); a degree in HR, Business or Law; CIPD, SHRM or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in construction, contracting or another large-workforce industry is desirable.

Required skills

• Hands-on involvement in an HR system implementation; SAP SuccessFactors experience is a strong advantage.
