About the role

The Head of Data Management creates and leads a data management team and practice, working with the business and the Digital team to capture data-driven value. The role ensures the highest standards of data quality, integrity and security across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a skilled data team of senior Data Engineers, Data Architects and Data Platform Administrators to build robust data services.
• Lead the implementation and monitoring of data operations such as cloud-based data platforms, data pipelines, automation, data models and cataloging to enable digital and data analytics.
• Define and develop the data strategy, including architecture, engineering, cloud data platforms and talent, aligned with business and digital strategies.
• Create and mature the data governance framework, covering data ownership, access controls, data quality standards and security policies.
• Manage data management finances, including the annual budget, quality of reporting and spend oversight.
• Champion a data-driven culture and deliver use cases with measurable value, with appropriate prioritization of resources.

Required profile

• 15 years of experience in the Energy industry.
• 8 years of proven data management experience, preferably in Oil and Gas.
• Strong understanding of upstream and downstream data requirements.
• Degree in Statistics, Engineering or a technology-related field; a Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Oil & Gas, Energy Management or Petroleum Engineering is highly desirable.
• Candidates without recent experience in the Oil and Gas industry and Azure data foundations will not be considered.
