Head, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering

About the role

This role leads and manages all electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications engineering activities for the NFA Sustainability Project, providing technical leadership and assurance through the FEED and EPIC phases. It covers offshore facilities, including offshore platforms, compression facilities, power systems, telecommunications and associated infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Account for the safe, timely and cost-effective delivery of E&I engineering, ensuring compliance with project requirements, corporate standards, regulatory requirements and international industry standards.
• Provide leadership to the E&I engineering team and engineering contractors to ensure successful project execution.
• Deliver technical leadership and assurance across the FEED and EPIC phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years' experience in instrumentation, control and electrical engineering within the oil and gas industry, including at least 10 years supporting offshore oil and gas processing facilities.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in a senior discipline leadership role such as Lead Instrumentation Engineer, Lead E&I Engineer, Discipline Head or equivalent.
• Proven experience supporting FEED and EPC/EPIC phases of major offshore projects, including offshore platforms, high-pressure gas facilities, compression systems, topsides, jackets and associated infrastructure.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Instrumentation & Control or Electrical and Electronics Engineering; a higher degree is advantageous.
• Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control, electrical and telecommunications engineering design, engineering assurance, design reviews, procurement, construction, commissioning and contractor management.
• Familiarity with Shell DEPs, international engineering codes and standards, engineering software and project delivery processes.
• Demonstrated leadership, planning, communication and stakeholder management in large, multi-disciplinary project environments.
