Hydro Test Operator – Offshore Qatar

About the role

Saipem is seeking a Hydro Test Operator for the Mag Jupiter project offshore Qatar. The role involves operating, monitoring and maintaining pipeline pre‑commissioning equipment during flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydro‑testing, dewatering and air‑drying activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor suction pumps, flooding pumps, chemical injection units, high‑pressure pumps, air compressors, after‑coolers and air dryers according to procedures.
• Set up and align hoses, fittings and manifolds, ensuring correct pressure, flow and chemical injection levels.
• Perform routine checks, basic troubleshooting and maintenance on pumps, compressors and dryers.
• Coordinate with team members to maintain continuous operation during pre‑commissioning.
• Record equipment parameters and contribute to daily operating logs.
• Follow safety protocols and assist in emergency response when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the equipment operating area.

Required profile

• ITI or Technical Certificate (or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years experience operating pipeline pre‑commissioning equipment offshore or on‑shore.
• Physically fit for offshore conditions.
• Good communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Centrifugal pump operation (e.g., Caprari 500 m³/hr with CAT C27 engine).
• High‑pressure piston pump operation (e.g., MIDIS/Woma 550 ARP with CAT C18 engine).
• Diesel generator operation (e.g., Atlas Copco with Perkins 1104C engine).
• Air compressor operation (e.g., Atlas Copco XRYS 1260 CD7).
• Desiccant air dryer operation (Twin‑pot, 1600 scfm+).
