About the role
Mott MacDonald is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to monitor and inspect mechanical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with project specifications, local codes and international standards while supporting the project team throughout construction.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and inspect mechanical works to ensure compliance with PPPA, QCS and best international standards.
- Attend progress and technical meetings with the Authority and the Project Company.
- Check mechanical equipment and works executed, assist in reviewing As‑built drawings, and conduct material inspections and site acceptance tests.
- Respond to Inspection Requests from contractors and recommend appropriate actions.
- Conduct site inspections as required by the Resident Engineer and Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Review shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, ensuring adherence to local codes, statutory requirements and best practice.
- Monitor HSE and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and risk assessments.
- Apply and implement QA/QC procedures on site and maintain comprehensive activity reports.
- Coordinate between disciplines and provide technical assistance to resolve any electrical issues that arise.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience supervising installation of mechanical equipment on pump stations and sewage treatment plant projects of similar size.
- Good knowledge of local material standards.
- Ability to operate ethically with integrity, prioritising safety and security.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
