IT Project Manager – Consultant (Banking)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager – Consultant to lead and deliver strategic IT projects within the banking and financial services sector. The role involves planning, coordinating, executing, and monitoring a portfolio of projects from initiation to closure while ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of IT projects using the organization’s project management methodology.
• Prepare and maintain Project Initiation Documents, project plans, status reports, risk registers, and closure reports.
• Monitor progress, address risks, issues, and dependencies proactively.
• Build and maintain relationships with business units, IT teams, vendors, and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate vendor activities and ensure contractual deliverables are met.
• Lead cross‑functional project teams, motivate members, and handle personnel issues with HR.
• Identify project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with security and governance frameworks.
• Support audit activities by providing accurate project documentation.
• Understand system architecture and integration points to aid decision‑making and ensure operational readiness during deployments.
• Provide regular status updates, executive summaries, and maintain accurate project records.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing IT projects in banking or financial services.
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management capabilities.
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent risk, compliance, and governance awareness.
• Effective communication skills for reporting to senior management.
