About the role
The SOC Analyst Engineer is responsible for detecting security incidents, analysing threats and translating their impact for the wider business. The role involves continuous monitoring of security controls, incident ticket review and leveraging threat intelligence to scope attacks.
Key responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and communicate threat intelligence throughout its lifecycle.
- Perform in‑depth analysis of incidents escalated from the L1 team.
- Manage, configure and improve SIEM and other security monitoring tools.
- Respond to customer queries within defined timelines and direct remediation efforts.
- Review vulnerability scans and assessment reports to guide mitigation.
Required profile
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant security operations experience.
- One or more recognised security certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CCNP Sec).
Required skills
- Knowledge of SIEM platforms such as Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight and RSA.
- Familiarity with log formats (LEEF, CIF) and protocols (syslog, FTP).
- Experience with IDS/IPS, HIDS/HIPS, firewalls and antivirus solutions.
- Network forensics skills, including analysis of PCAP files and network flows.
- Understanding of vulnerability scanning and assessment processes.
