Lead Engineer - Gulfstream G650 & G700

About the role

The Lead Engineer is directly responsible for the serviceability and airworthiness of the Qatar Executive (QE) aircraft, applying the highest standards of practice in line with QCAA regulations and QR standards and procedures. He ensures that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance is performed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively, and manages the technical team and shift resources.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, direct and manage resources and shift staff, covering leave, training, sickness and other absences
• Carry out scheduled, unscheduled maintenance and defect rectification to the required standard, and issue Certificates of Release to Service in line with TPM, QE, CPM and other procedures
• Manage the aircraft technical team and advise the Maintenance Manager of issues affecting aircraft and cabin systems
• Ensure work meets QE standards and targets such as aircraft availability, system reliability and acceptable deferred defects
• Review work procedures, equipment and standards, implement technical solutions and help prepare maintenance work packages
• Work with OEMs, vendors and suppliers on defects, train and develop staff, and perform other duties as directed by the Head of Department

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6 years of job-related experience
• Licensed engineer with a type rating or authorization on Gulfstream 650ER or Gulfstream 700, and a recognized aircraft trade diploma
• ICAO mechanical or avionics license, preferably EASA; recognized aircraft type rating, preferably on an aircraft operated or planned to be operated by QE
• Previous supervisory experience in line and base maintenance
