About the role
The international consultancy is looking for a Legal Specialist to support its large‑scale building construction, land and water transport infrastructure project in Rwanda. The role involves providing expert legal advice across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with both national and international regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, procurement documents and financing agreements.
- Conduct legal risk assessments and advise on mitigation strategies for multi‑stakeholder initiatives.
- Support dispute resolution processes and represent the project in negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with Rwandan law and relevant East African legal frameworks.
- Collaborate with project managers, consultants and donor agencies to align legal advice with technical and financial plans.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in law with a focus on Commercial, Contract or International Business Law.
- Active membership in a recognized Bar Association or Law Society.
- Minimum ten years of professional legal practice, preferably in advisory roles for large infrastructure or public‑sector projects.
- Proven experience in contract management, procurement, project financing and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with the legal environment in Rwanda or the broader East African region is an asset.
Required skills
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
