Machinist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team. The successful candidate will operate a range of machine tools, ensure high‑quality output, and collaborate closely with engineers to optimise machining processes.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, grinders and CNC equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical specifications.
• Measure, mark and align workpieces using micrometers, calipers and gauges.
• Monitor machine performance, detect malfunctions and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain production records, machine settings and quality check logs.
• Follow HSE safety procedures and ensure a safe working environment.
• Work with engineers and supervisors to improve machining processes.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Machining or a related field.
• 3–5 years of proven experience as a Machinist in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of machine operations, cutting tools and machining techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
