Manager - Restructuring

About the role

The bank’s Asset Recovery function is looking for a Manager – Restructuring to lead distressed and early‑stress financing cases, protect asset value and limit credit losses while operating within risk and regulatory limits.

Key responsibilities

• Own and update the restructuring framework, operating procedures and yearly plan.
• Analyse financials, cash flow, business viability and collateral to decide if a case can be restructured.
• Design and test restructuring options such as revised repayment schedules, extended tenors, repricing, additional security or amended covenants.
• Prepare credit papers backed by scenario modelling and recovery analysis.
• Negotiate directly with borrowers, guarantors and their advisers.
• Drive each deal through due diligence, credit approval, documentation and execution.
• Monitor restructured accounts against repayments, covenants and milestones.
• Escalate to collection, legal or other remedial routes when restructuring is not viable or terms are breached.
• Maintain accurate portfolio data and report on exposures, approvals, recoveries, exceptions and emerging risks.
• Supervise, coach and develop a Restructuring Analyst.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a similar discipline.
• 10+ years in banking across credit, restructuring, remedial, workout or recovery roles.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience analysing distressed credits and negotiating with borrowers.
• Strong financial analysis, cash‑flow forecasting and scenario modelling.
• Solid understanding of restructuring structures, collateral, credit documentation and recovery strategy.
