Maths Teacher (Primary/Early Years)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher for our Early Years and Primary department. The role involves delivering high‑quality mathematics instruction, fostering a safe and stimulating learning environment, and inspiring pupils to develop a love for learning.

Key responsibilities

• Set high expectations and motivate pupils of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Create and maintain a safe, respectful classroom atmosphere.
• Plan and deliver well‑structured lessons that build on pupils’ prior knowledge.
• Assess and be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN, high‑ability, EAL and disabled pupils.
• Provide constructive homework and out‑of‑class activities to consolidate learning.
• Reflect on teaching effectiveness and contribute to curriculum design.
• Collaborate with the Head of Primary and Assistant Head of Primary to develop schemes of work and departmental resources.

Required profile

• Passionate about mathematics education and student development.
• Strong knowledge of the primary mathematics curriculum and pedagogical best practices.
• Ability to set challenging yet achievable goals for pupils.
• Understanding of how various factors can affect learning and strategies to overcome them.
• Commitment to promoting high standards of literacy and correct use of English.
