Senior Electrical Engineer – Pumping Stations & STWs

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to monitor and inspect electrical works on pumping station and sewage treatment plant projects in Al Wakrah, Qatar. The role involves ensuring design compliance, overseeing commissioning, and supporting the delivery of water infrastructure assets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, review and approve design documents and drawings for HV/LV power supply, motors, MCCs, and control philosophy related to pumping stations and STWs.
• Perform peer review of electrical contract documents, calculations and reports, and provide recommendations on project submissions.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities (FAT & SAT) for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with Kahramaa and QCS specifications.
• Verify and comment on inspection, pre‑commissioning and commissioning plans, issuing No‑Objection recommendations.
• Support the design of primary and secondary substations and contribute to on‑site commissioning and acceptance testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Chartered Engineer status in a recognized professional body (highly preferred).
• Extensive experience reviewing design data for compliance with technical specifications, applicable law and industry standards.
• Proven ability to operate ethically, prioritize safety and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
