Millwright - Mechanical / Hydraulic / Material Handling

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time Millwright in Doha within the oil and gas sector. The role covers mechanical and material handling maintenance, including rotating and static equipment, pumps, compressors, conveyors and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul pumps, compressors, blowers, gearboxes, drive systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Carry out shaft alignment, coupling alignment, equipment leveling and precision installation.
• Replace and repair bearings, mechanical seals, gears, couplings, shafts, bushings and other worn components.
• Maintain conveyor systems (belts, idlers, pulleys, rollers, bearings, drive assemblies, take-up units) and perform vulcanizing of fabric and steel-cord belts.
• Assist in maintenance of chutes, transfer points, structural supports and conveyor drives.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, fitting and basic fabrication as required.
• Support shutdown, turnaround and emergency breakdown maintenance.
• Record inspection results and maintenance activities in logs and reports, and follow plant safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Required profile

• Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute or university.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a production or process plant, preferably in steel, metal or cement industries.
• Hands-on experience maintaining rotating and static mechanical equipment.
• Strong experience in fabric and steel-cord conveyor belt vulcanizing for material-handling systems.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision, in dusty, hot and high environments, and under pressure.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, bearings, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, conveyors and drive assemblies.
• Equipment inspection, dismantling, repair, assembly and alignment.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of plant safety procedures and industrial maintenance standards.
• Basic computer skills and good written and spoken English.
