Munitions Technician

About the role

The Munitions Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting and maintaining U.S. Air Force munitions and related handling equipment. The role operates the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS) and may supervise an Other Country National workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce USAF and host‑nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards during all operations.
• Conduct munitions inspections, reconditioning, repairs and replacement of defective parts.
• Perform warehouse inventories, resolve discrepancies and manage munitions shipments by air, sea and surface.
• Operate and maintain light vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, manual hoists and other handling equipment.
• Operate TICMS in the Receiver role and perform entry‑controller duties as required.
• Provide safety briefings, supervise crew members and perform minor maintenance on facilities and equipment.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of USAF Supply and Technical Order systems or equivalent.
• Ability to work stand‑by hours and support mission requirements in peacetime and combat contingencies.
• Experience supervising a mixed workforce and delivering clear instructions.
• Familiarity with explosives safety standards and emergency response procedures.

• Forklift, pallet jack and manual hoist operation
• Metal strapping, stencil machine, heat sealer, pneumatic paint gun, air compressor and power‑tool usage
