Munitions Technician

About the role

Amentum provides munitions support services for the U.S. Air Force. The Munitions Technician receives, stores, inspects, tests, transports and maintains USAF munitions, munitions material handling equipment and supporting resources, and operates the Theater Integrated Combat Munitions System (TICMS). The role may involve supervising Other Country Nationals and ensuring compliance with the Performance Work Statement and the Amentum ISO 9001 quality management system.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce USAF, host nation explosives safety, AFOSH and security standards, and respond promptly to emergencies
• Recondition, repair and replace defective or missing parts of munitions and containers, and conduct warehouse inventories
• Prepare and configure munitions shipments for air, sea and surface transport, and load/unload trucks
• Assist in inspecting munitions, brass, residue and containers in accordance with technical orders
• Operate TICMS, including the Receiver role and entry-controller duties, and operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and metal strapping equipment
• Perform minor maintenance on facilities and equipment, and deliver safety briefings
• Work normal hours including standby duties, and travel domestically and internationally

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of USAF supply and tech order systems or US service equivalent
• Completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training or US service equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required)
• Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain a host nation license
• Physical capability to lift, push or pull 50 lbs, normal colour perception and depth of vision
• Domestic and international travel
• Preferred: at least four years of USAF military munitions experience and an Associate's degree in Munitions Management
