Programme Implementation Manager - Railway O&M

About the role

SYSTRA, an engineering and consultancy group specialising in public transport and sustainable mobility, is looking for a Programme Implementation Manager to support a task force with practical railway O&M knowledge. The role leads the translation of an improvement plan into implementable changes across Metro and Tram operations and maintenance, coordinating technical and operational implementation without acting as the expert for every E&M system. It draws on system engineers, operations personnel, asset managers, safety specialists, maintainers and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of the joint E&M Transformation Framework.
• Drive practical implementation of the E&M Improvement Programme across Metro and Tram O&M, coordinating engineering, maintenance, operations, safety, asset management and subcontractor interfaces.
• Translate improvement opportunities into practical, coordinated and sustainable operational improvements.
• Support maintenance optimisation and innovation, assessing opportunities against safety, operational, commercial and whole-life-cost considerations.
• Help embed transformation initiatives and verify that new processes, controls and working practices are embedded in business-as-usual operations.
• Deliver an implementation plan, schedule, milestone tracker, risk and issue registers, progress reports and implementation evidence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher diploma in electrical, mechanical, systems, railway or maintenance engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Practical experience in railway, metro or tram operations and maintenance.
• Experience working with engineering, operations, maintenance planning, safety assurance and subcontractor teams.
• Experience implementing improvements in a live operational environment.
• Professional engineering or asset-management membership is desirable.

Required skills

• Broad working knowledge of E&M maintenance across systems.
• Understanding of preventive, corrective and condition-based maintenance.
• Ability to interpret maintenance evidence, technical submissions, asset-condition information and operational performance data.
• Familiarity with ISO 55001-based asset-management systems.
