National Teams Physiotherapist

About the role

Aspetar is recruiting a National Teams Physiotherapist for its National Teams Medical Services Unit. The role provides direct clinical care, including assessment, treatment and management of players, and works closely with the National Teams Medical Director, National Teams Doctor and Head Physiotherapist.

Key responsibilities

• Independently assess, diagnose and plan individualized treatment and rehabilitation programmes for players, progressing them according to clinical presentation and rehabilitation goals
• Manage an assigned caseload, prioritizing patients and supporting return-to-performance decisions
• Maintain accurate clinical records in the electronic health record and information management systems
• Support the medical director, doctor and head physiotherapist in planning continuing professional development and deliver knowledge-sharing sessions after attending courses, workshops or conferences
• Take part in physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent; Master's in Sports Physiotherapy preferred
• 10+ years of clinical experience, including 5+ years in elite football physiotherapy
• State registration with a Physiotherapy Association and eligibility for a Physiotherapy license from the Ministry of Public Health
• Emergency pitch-side qualification and evidence of continued professional development
• High level of written and spoken English

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-play
• Pitch-side and emergency-care experience
• Ability to set standards in sports medicine care and give presentations or formal teaching
• Excellent communication with athletes, coaches, club/federation staff, senior management and external stakeholders
• Computer literacy and use of rehabilitation apparatus and audio-visual media
