Physiotherapist - Sports and Orthopaedics

About the role

Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital is looking for a physiotherapist who can work independently to assess, diagnose and treat patients, including athletes and non-athletes. The role involves managing a caseload, contributing to evidence-based practice and taking part in clinical governance.

Key responsibilities

• Independently assess, analyse and clinically diagnose patients to determine their need for physiotherapy intervention.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, treat and progress patient care to maximise rehabilitation potential, and advance treatment independently.
• Manage a caseload of athletes and non-athletes effectively and efficiently.
• Contribute to evidence-based practice and help develop assessment and treatment protocols.
• Decide on patient discharge planning independently or with the Senior Physiotherapist.
• Support the Senior Physiotherapist with continuing education, in-service briefings and training, and take part in case reviews, workshops and courses.
• Take part in research projects at a basic level and in clinical audits supporting clinical governance.
• Maintain patient records and accurate statistics, including independent charting using Cerner.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and liaise with Lead Clinical and Senior Physiotherapists.
• Complete annual patient safety competency training.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy or equivalent; Master's degree in Sport Physiotherapy desired.
• Minimum 6-8 years of experience, of which 2-3 years in a similar position, preferably in a similar industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage orthopaedic and sports physiotherapy caseloads independently.
• Sports physiotherapy background required.
• Fulfilment of all licensing requirements.
• High proficiency in English is mandatory; Arabic is a definite advantage.

Required skills

• Ability to work independently and evaluate own practice.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Cerner for charting.
