Principal Bridge / Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Principal Bridge / Structural Design Engineer to lead the design of a wide range of infrastructure assets in Doha, Qatar. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, coordinated structural solutions for bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks and related public buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed structural design of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks and associated public infrastructure.
• Supervise the production of design drawings, calculation reports and technical specifications.
• Ensure quality assurance of all structural deliverables before client submission.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to achieve clash‑free, constructible designs.
• Track design task progress, report status to Design and Project Managers, and resolve design issues.
• Support additional engineering activities as required by senior leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
• At least 10 years of hands‑on experience in bridge and related structural design.
• Business‑level English communication skills for reports and discussions.
• Eligibility to obtain UPDA (MME) registration in Qatar within six months of onboarding.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design, IDEA StatiCa, AutoCAD and Bentley RAM.
• In‑depth knowledge of Eurocode, British Standards, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and client‑specific design guidelines.
