Project Director - Doha

About the role

The Project Director leads the Projects division in Doha, reporting to the executive management team alongside the CEO and other CXOs. The role covers strategy, project delivery, asset review, budgeting, and oversight of engineering contractors and consultants, with financial authority within the limits set by Qatar management.

Key responsibilities

• Help shape Qatar's overall vision and strategy, turn it into annual operational business plans and monitor performance
• Lead the division, set objectives, manage performance and develop and motivate the team
• Guide technical and project delivery, including planning, organizing and controlling projects and directing infrastructure design
• Carry out technical studies and evaluations to assess the financial and technical feasibility of expanding services
• Build relationships with engineering contractors and partners for architecture, design, project management, cost consultancy and construction, and appoint external consultants
• Review the physical condition of Qatar's assets and ensure compliance with legislation
• Define the division's organization structure with HR and prepare the divisional budget and financial reports
• Develop policies, systems and procedures, manage change and ensure quality, health, safety and environmental compliance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university; master's degree preferred
• 12 years of experience in the utilities industry or large-scale project management environment in the GCC, with at least 8 years in managerial roles
• Proficiency in English and Arabic
