Psychologist (PhD) – Developmental Pediatrics

About the role

The Psychologist (PhD) – Developmental Pediatrics provides specialist psychological assessments, interventions, and consultation for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders in an outpatient clinic setting. The role involves comprehensive testing, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct psychological and behavioral assessments, including psycho‑educational and neuropsychological testing.
• Write detailed reports and review school/medical records to inform case understanding.
• Communicate with schools and families (with consent) to gather input and advise on educational placement.
• Provide evidence‑based therapies such as CBT, social‑skills training, and group parent education.
• Offer specialized interventions like DIRFloortime® or other play‑based therapies.
• Consult with physicians, speech‑language pathologists, occupational therapists, and nurses to integrate care plans.
• Stay current with research and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.

Required profile

• PhD in Psychology with experience in developmental pediatrics or neurodevelopmental disorders.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder interaction.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and ongoing professional development.

Required skills

• DIRFloortime® (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related issues.
• Group therapy facilitation and parent counseling techniques.
