QA/QC Engineer

About the role

Madre Integrated Engineering is hiring a full-time QA/QC Engineer in Qatar, reporting to the QA/QC Manager or Project Manager. The engineer implements, monitors and maintains the project's quality management system so that all works comply with approved specifications, standards and regulatory requirements, through inspections, documentation review and coordination with internal teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project-specific QA/QC plan in line with company policies and ISO standards, and ensure compliance with contractual specifications, international standards and MME/UPDA requirements.
• Assist in preparing quality procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs) and checklists.
• Conduct site inspections against approved drawings and specifications, coordinate with third-party laboratories for material testing, and review and approve material submittals, method statements and shop drawings.
• Maintain quality records, inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs), track and close out NCRs and corrective action requests (CARs), and prepare daily, weekly and monthly quality reports.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors, take part in quality meetings and audits, and support site teams in resolving quality issues.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and promote a culture of quality awareness.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline.
• MME/UPDA license (mandatory); ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in a QA/QC role, preferably in construction, infrastructure or oil & gas projects.
• Attention to detail, strong problem-solving and decision-making, effective communication, ability to work independently and in a team, and strong documentation skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of quality control standards and inspection procedures.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing ITPs, method statements and QA/QC documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality management standards.
