Senior Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead the review and supervision of Control & Instrumentation and software designs for public infrastructure projects such as treatment works and pump stations in Al Wakrah, Qatar.

Key responsibilities

• Review, comment on and recommend acceptance of contractor submissions for instrumentation, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Verify compliance of design data with technical specifications, applicable law, performance standards and good industry practice.
• Lead commissioning, pre‑commissioning, and commercial operation testing plans, including witnessing acceptance tests with government departments.
• Develop and execute shutdown plans for instrumentation to meet specified windows.
• Provide No‑Objection recommendations for inspections, pre‑commissioning, commissioning and testing documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Chartered Engineer status in a recognized professional institution (highly preferred).
• Extensive experience in design‑management of control and instrumentation systems for water‑treatment or pump‑station projects.
• Proven ability to supervise, commission and verify complex PLC and SCADA installations.
